ANMLY is now open for our new folio exploring poetry on desire and devotion that revels in excess.
We’re seeking previously-unpublished poetry, multimedia poetry, audio, and video. Absolutely no AI.
Commonly associated with transgressive forms of sexuality, a fetish can also refer to an irrational fixation or protective talisman. Who or what informs our obsessions and rituals? How are certain desires marginalized? What does it mean to embrace fetish in an age of extremism? And how can poetry act as a medium or translator for our compulsions, rites, and arousals?

This folio is a direct response to the current rise in legislation against, surveillance, and censorship of queer and trans* people. As visible expressions of queer desire and devotion become increasingly stigmatized, what does it mean to be deemed taboo? Who or what thrives on the uttermost edges of indulgence? How might specific acts, objects, or garments generate an arousing, empowering, or protective effect? What do fetishes signal about history, culture, or lived experience?
This collection will embrace both traditional and multimedia poetry that revels in excess: submit campy, ear-splitting, maximalist, surreal poems that challenge the border of the page, the limits of language, or assumptions about normative urges. From kinky sestinas to sneaker collection odes, this folio will feature recursive poems, poems hinged on a single sound, poems of witness, queered forms, poems rooted in obsessive research, and–most importantly–poems that make the private public.
