We Lie Like Clock Hands
We lie like clock hands
at ten and two.
Fill us--
not each alone but each to each
pelvis hinge pelvis fulcrum
Fill the space of miscues, misreadings
There are moments
when two appear as one
but this is illusion
not true union
as when objects subsume
their shadows, and in doing so,
become vulnerable
in the highest hour
of the sun.
