Ravi Shankar
is Associate Professor and Poet-in-Residence at Central Connecticut
State University. His first book of poems Instrumentality, published in 2004 by Cherry
Grove, was named a finalist for the Connecticut Book Awards. He reviews
poetry for the Contemporary Poetry Review and along with Tina
Chang and Nathalie Handal, is the co-editor of Language for a New Century:
Contemporary Poetry from Asia, the Middle East and Beyond
(W.W. Norton & Co., 2008). You can read some of his poems in The Cortland Review, The Brooklyn Rail, Blackbird and Word for Word, listen to some of his poems From the Fishouse and The Carrboro Poetry Festival, read

Aaron Hawn
has an MFA from Columbia University, teaches at John Jay College, is

Shawn M. McKinney
has an MFA in Graphic Design from California Institute of the Arts
(1994). His design work has been published in Type In Motion, Digital
Type and Typography Now 2. Critical writing includes
articles in Journalism and Mass Communications Quarterly, Journal
of Mass Media Ethics and International Journal of Comic Art.
He served as Discussant for “W(h)ither the Touch,” an AIGA paper
session at the 93rd CAA Annual Conference.
He taught as Assistant Professor, UT-Austin, from 1999-2005. During
that time he also served as Design Consultant, School of Journalism,
and as Design Advisor, Orange Magazine. Currently, he teaches
as Professor of Graphic Design, Savannah College of Art and Design
(SCAD), Savannah, GA.

Sina Queyras
recently edited Open Field: 30 Contemporary Canadian Poets
for Persea Books. Her third collection of poetry, Lemon Hound,
won the Pat Lowther Award and a Lambda Literary Award. Her fourth
collection, Expressway, is due out from Coach House Books in
2009. She is currently Markin Flanagan Writer-in-Residence at the
University of Calgary. When she is not writing, editing, or pawing the

is Associate Professor of French at Yale University where he teaches
courses in modern and contemporary literature. He is the author of Jacques
Roubaud and the Invention of Memory (UNC Press, 2006) and
co-editor of Pereckonings: Reading Georges Perec (Yale French
Studies 105). He is currently writing a study of French lyrical poetry
from the early nineties to the present. |

was born and raised in Los Angeles and has lived in New York, Germany,
and now Toronto, Canada where she teaches writing at The University of
Western Ontario, Humber College, and the Toronto Writers' Centre. She
received her MFA from Columbia University; her writing has appeared in

Leslie McGrath
lives in Stonington, CT and works as a holistic health counselor
specializing in the optimization of creativity through wellness. Her
poems have appeared in Beloit Poetry Journal, Black
Warrior Review, Poetry Ireland, and elsewhere. She was
the winner of the 2004 Nimrod/Hardman Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry and
a Pushcart Prize nominee. Her chapbook, Toward Anguish, won
the 2007 Philbrick Poetry Award and was published by The Providence
Athenaeum. She is the recipient of a 2007 Artist Fellowship from the
Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism. Her interview with
poet Dick Allen is forthcoming in The Writers’ Chronicle.

David Cappella
is a member of the English Department at Central Connecticut State
University. He has co-authored (with Baron Wormser) two books on the
teaching of poetry, Teaching the Art of Poetry: The Moves
(Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, 2000) and A Surge of Language:
Teaching Poetry Day to Day (Heinemann, 2004). He travels through
the country giving workshosp to teachers and students. His poetry has

above/ground press and the longpoem magazine STANZAS, Rob
edits the cauldron books series through Broken Jaw Press, and most
recently, the anthologies evergreen: six new poets (Black
Moss Press), side/lines: a new canadian poetics (Insomniac
Press) and GROUNDSWELL: the best of above/ground press, 1993-2003 (cauldron
books #4, Broken Jaw Press). He currently lives in Ottawa, where he
co-ordinates events & the semi-annual Ottawa small press book fair
through the small press action network-ottawa (span-o). He is
completing a novel, a collection of essays, and a poetry manuscript, the
news. With Ottawa poet Stephen Brockwell, he edits Poetics.ca.
In 1999, he won the CAA/Air Canada Award for most promising writer (in
any genre) in Canada under the age of 30.

Hoos is currently attending Connecticut College in New
London. She is an English major concentrating on analytical writing,
specifically her thesis. She has interned with Drunken Boat for about
2 years as Ravi Shankar's personal assistant. She's worked on various
tasks including obtaining permissions agreements as well as editing
written work for the magazine and film footage from performances and
events. She is hoping to become an editorial intern for a publishing
company after graduating in June of 2009. |

Greg Garcia manages the myspace page for

grew up with three channels of television (what kid counted PBS,
really?) and lots of toy guns. He is a professional musician, a
professional graphic designer, and a father of two wily girls.
Currently, Garcia is enrolled in the Professional Education Program at
Central Connecticut State University, where he studies to become a high
school English teacher. With a minor in writing, Garcia anxiously
awaits publication, while avidly collecting rejection letters as a
hobby. |
