Swarm
A gathered swoon above a sweet expanse,
I am a darkling flush, a pollen-heady
descent upon your lustrous acres. My hunger
sings the stridulant percussion of limbs.
Be still, as I devour every stem
and leaf, swallow you, husk, spikelet
and seed, ravish down to root, until
we are enfolded, a fuse of verdant instar.
From the exhausted moan of damp earth,
my scion, we molt together, engulf a jungle.
